A Season of Wonderful Cafe Visits.

Throughout the season, our residents have enjoyed a variety of lovely cafe outings, each filled with laughter, friendship and plenty of delicious treas. These special trips provide a great opportunity for everyone to relax, socialise and explore the local communities. Here are some highlights from our recent cafe visits, showcasing the smiles and memorable moments shared along the way.

Enjoying the Garden at Mayfield Court.

One of our residents have been spending time at the garden centre purchasing some supplies. We cleared out our Greenhouse to prepare the space for a new season of growth and we are looking forward to watching everything bloom in the weeks ahead.

Visit from the Zoo!

We were delighted to welcome a special visit from the Zoo, who brought along a selection of small animals for our residents to meet here at Mayfield Court. It was a fantastic experience giving everyone the opportunity to get up close, learn more about the animals and enjoy something a little different in the comfort of our own home. Lots of smiles and curiosity making it a truly memorable day for everyone involved.

Winter Days Out.

As we say goodbye to winter and welcome the start of spring, we have been looking back at all the wonderful activities and celebrations we have enjoyed together at Mayfield Court.

We all enjoyed a fun day out bowling together. There was plenty of laughter, friendly competition and lots of encouragement from everyone. It was a great activity for us all!

Residents enjoyed a fantastic day our visiting the Blue Planet Aquarium. Everyone loved exploring the aquarium and seeing the amazing sea life, from colorful fish to impressive sharks. It was a very trip that brought a lot of excitement and great memories for everyone who attended.

Spring is finally here, bringing brighter mornings, lighter evenings, and the perfect reason to spend more time outdoors. Whether its a quick stroll or a full day outdoors, embracing the season can do wonders for your wellbeing and help bring our community closer together.

A great way to break up the day, with plenty of opportunities to enjoy a good coffee and a bit of browsing along the way. Whether its stopping off at a local cafe for a warm drink or taking a gentle look around nearby shops, these outfits offer a chance to relax, take in surroundings, and enjoy a change of pace.

Winter at Mayfield Court

As the days grow colder and the nights draw in, Mayfield Court is in full festive swing. The Christmas trees are up, and the decorations are sparkling, and every corner feels wonderfully Merry and Bright.

Residents have been enjoying a whole host of festive activities, with plenty mor to come. Our annual Christmas Party took place on 5th December and was a fantastic day for everyone - we even had a surprise visit from the Grinch!

There have also been lots of Christmas Shopping trips, complete with a well-earned bite to eat or a relaxing pint afterwards when all shopped out.

The excitement is building as Christmas approaches, and we're all looking forward to celebrating together and welcoming in the New Year!

Autumn Adventures at Mayfield Court

As the leaves start to fall and the air turns crisp, there’s no slowing down for our wonderful Mayfield residents! Even as the nights draw in and the jumpers come out, everyone has been making the most of the season with some fantastic days out and plenty of fun closer to home.

We’ve enjoyed exciting trips to Knowsley Safari Park – where the lions, rhinos, and mischievous monkeys gave us plenty to talk about – and a fascinating visit to Madame Tussauds in Blackpool, where our residents got up close with some very famous faces!

Of course, nothing beats wrapping up warm for a cosy outing – whether it’s popping out for a nice coffee and a bite to eat, or even treating ourselves to a cheeky little pint at the pub.

And no October would be complete without our annual Mayfield Halloween Party! Everyone got involved, donning their best spooky costumes and enjoying a spectacularly frightful (and fun!) day together.

July & August at Mayfield Court

Summer at Mayfield Court has been in full swing, and our residents have enjoyed a season filled with laughter, sunshine, and special memories. Throughout July and August, we’ve shared many wonderful days together — from lively activities and themed events to great days out. It’s been a time of fun, friendship, and making moments to cherish.

Trips to Coffee Shops and Restaurants

Our residents have been making the most of the beautiful summer weather with some wonderful outings. From enjoying a freshly brewed coffee and a slice of cake at local cafés, to relaxing afternoons at the pub with a nice cool pint, it’s been a season full of smiles and laughter.

We’ve also shared some lovely meals out together, creating special memories and plenty of happy moments along the way. It’s been a joy to see everyone enjoying the sunshine, good food, and great company!

Days out

This summer has been filled with joy, laughter, and plenty of sunshine for our wonderful residents. We’ve enjoyed some truly memorable outings, from exploring Knowsley Safari Park and marvelling at the incredible animals, to a fun-filled day at Blackpool Zoo meeting creatures great and small.

Closer to home, there have been simple pleasures that mean so much — trips to the beach complete with ice creams, peaceful afternoons in the park feeding the ducks, and the delight of meeting lots of furry friends along the way.

These special days out remind us that happiness can be found in both the big adventures and the little moments — smiles shared, stories told, and memories made together.

Our Liverpool Fans

Some of our residents who are passionate Liverpool supporters enjoyed a special trip to the official Liverpool shop. Excitement was in the air as they browsed through team merchandise, reminisced about their favourite matches, and proudly picked out souvenirs that showed off their love for the Reds.

The day was also a chance to pause and pay tribute to a much-loved Liverpool player who recently passed away. Our residents shared memories, spoke about his contribution to the club, and reflected on what he meant to them as lifelong fans.

It was a touching and meaningful outing – a blend of joy, nostalgia, and remembrance – and a reminder of how sport brings people together across generations.

A Blooming Success!

Our residents enjoyed a wonderful day out at the Southport Flower Show, and the sun shone brightly, making the event even more special. The atmosphere was filled with colour, creativity, and plenty of floral inspiration.

We’re especially proud of our very own green-fingered resident, who not only entered their beautiful flowers into the competition but also walked away with 1st place! ��

It was a fantastic day celebrating nature, gardening talent, and community spirit – and we couldn’t be happier to see our residents enjoying such a memorable occasion.

Summer Activities

Summer has truly arrived at Mayfield Court, and our residents have been making the most of the sunshine and warm weather with a variety of fun and memorable outings.

There have been plenty of relaxing visits to local coffee shops, where our residents enjoyed a comforting cup of tea or coffee, often accompanied by a sneaky slice of cake and a good chat.

Retail therapy has also been on the agenda, with residents heading out to the shops to treat themselves and refresh their summer wardrobes.

A couple of our residents had a fantastic time at the Empire Theatre, enjoying the hilarious production of Only Fools and Horses—lots of laughs were had by all!

One of the highlights of the season was a lovely day out at the Blue Planet Aquarium. Residents loved walking through the underwater tunnels, marveling at the incredible sea life swimming all around them.

Of course, no summer would be complete without some hearty meals out—and maybe even a couple of pints—while enjoying great conversation and putting the world to rights.

Back at home, our green-fingered resident has been taking full advantage of the good weather, spending time in the garden and checking on the progress of his planting. The flowers are thriving, thanks to his care and dedication.

It’s been a month full of laughter, connection, and sunshine at Mayfield Court—and we’re looking forward to even more adventures as the summer continues!

Sunshine, Smiles and Seaside Adventures at Mayfield Court.

The recent spell of glorious weather has brought a burst of energy and excitement to Mayfield Court. Our residents have been making the most of the sunshine, enjoying plenty of outings and fresh air.

One of the favourite stops have been trips to a local coffee shop and a nice slice of cake! And of course who can resist a traditional pub lunch...a hearty lunch and a pint or two went down a treat!

For our green-fingered resident, a trip to the garden centre was a real highlight. surrounded by vibrant blooms and fragrant flowers, they selected beautiful plants to bring back and brighten up our gardens here at Mayfield Court.

Sunny Day out at Windmill Farm

Some of our residents had a wonderful day soaking up the sunshine at Windmill Farm. With sun hats on and sun cream applied, everyone was ready for a fun-filled adventure!

the highlight of the trip was feeding the animals - especially the adorable baby lambs, which brought smiles all around. It was a joy to see the residents interacting with the animals and enjoying the fresh air.

We wrapped up the day with a delicious ice cream, the perfect treat to end a perfect outing!

Easter at Mayfield Court - A Visit to Remember!

This Easter was truly special at Mayfield Court, as resident were treated to a delightful surprise - the Easter bunny himself made a fantastic appearance!

Bringing joy, laughter and plenty of seasonal cheer, the Easter Bunny handed out chocolate eggs and thoughtful gifts to our residents. The smiles were contagious and everyone enjoyed the festive treats and the warm, joyful atmosphere.

It was a heartwarming day filled with laughter, love and a sense of community. Our residents thoroughly enjoyed the visit, and we're so grateful to everyone who helped make the celebration such a success.

We cant wait to hop into more celebrations like this in the future!

Springtime Fun and Celebrations!

With the lovely weather recently, our residents have been making the most out of it and getting out and about! We've enjoyed a variety of of trips including relaxing afternoons at the cinema watching Snow White, a fascinating visit to the Blue Planet Aquarium, and some classic British pub lunches plus of course, a well earned pint or two.

One of our favorite outings was a trip to the Airport to watch the planes take off and land. The residents loved the experience and to top it off, they enjoyed ice cream in the sunshine while watching the planes come and go, a perfect spring day!

Back at home, one of our residents has been very busy in the garden, and the hard work is really paying off - the tulips are in full bloom, adding a splash of colour and cheer to our outdoor space.

We also hosted a fantastic Aintree Grand National Ladies Day party. Residents got into the racing spirit placing bets on their favorite horses, enjoying party food and drinks and celebrating a few lucky wins! It was a day full of excitement, laughter and great company.

Spring Activities at Mayfield Court

As the days grow longer and the weather gets warmer, spring brings a fresh burst of energy to Mayfield Court. The sunshine, chirping birds, and blooming flowers create the perfect setting for us to enjoy a variety of activities with our residents.

One of our favorite ways to embrace the season is by organising trips out. Whether it’s a leisurely shopping trip, a coffee break at a cosy café, or a delicious lunch at a local restaurant, these outings are always filled with laughter and great conversation. Our residents love the opportunity to explore, socialise, and enjoy a change of scenery.

Our residents have been enjoying a variety of fantastic outings, from relaxing trips to Crosby Beach, where we take in the fresh sea air and admire the famous Antony Gormley statues, to bowling trips, which bring out everyone’s competitive side in a fun and social setting.

For our football-loving residents, spring has been extra special! We’ve had the chance to visit Liverpool FC’s iconic Anfield Stadium and see the progress on Everton’s new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock, sparking plenty of great conversations about past matches and legendary players. To top it off, we hosted a fantastic Carabao Cup Final party, where residents gathered to watch the game, enjoy some delicious refreshments, and celebrate the love of football together.

Closer to home, we make the most of the sunny days by spending time in our gardens, admiring the colorful flowers and listening to the cheerful songs of birds. Fresh air and warm breezes make for a perfect afternoon spent reminiscing, or simply soaking up the beauty of nature.

Spring at Mayfield Court is all about celebrating the brighter days ahead. Whether indoors or outdoors, we’re making the most of this wonderful season with activities that bring joy, connection, and a renewed sense of well-being.

During the winter months with the cold and wet weather, it can be difficult to do trips out and about with the residents.

However at Mayfield we always try to get the residents out throughout the year as much as possible.

The residents especially enjoy getting wrapped up and off out for a little trip for a nice coffee, to the pub or for a spot of lunch.

On Saturday 20th July Mayfield welcomed family & friends to join in a fun packed fund day where everyone was welcome to show off their Talent.

There was also lots of fun activities - Raffle, Tombola, Face painting, balloon animals, craft table, sweets cart and lovely food - BBQ and Fish & Chips.

The residents got all dressed up for a fun packed day - starting with lovely Champagne breakfast , followed by the horse racing with drinks and cakes.

We had some lucky winners on the day and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

Co-ordination Classes

The Residents have really enjoyed the co-ordination classes that have recently been held at Mayfield.

The classes help the residents with hand-eye co-ordination and movement, the sessions include catching, balancing and throwing balls and balloons also throwing Velcro balls at targets.

The sessions will be available for the residents to attend on a regular basis.

Trip to The Blue Planet Aquarium

The residents always enjoy a day out to the Aquarium to visit the Sealife.

The Aquarium is a marine and freshwater aquarium where visitors can get up close to one the UKs largest collection of sharks all homed in a huge 4 million litre tropical display. the Residents can experience the sharks swimming over their head in the captivating 71-metre underwater tunnel.

Virtual Reality Session

The Residents have enjoyed a Virtual reality session at Mayfield. The introduction of Virtual Reality experiences in care homes has the potential to revolutionize the lives of residents. By promoting cognitive stimulation, emotional well-being, and physical rehabilitation.

Anfield Tour

Some of the Liverpool FC fans had a trip to Anfield - toured the press room and the Kop, peek behind the doors of the home and away teams' dressing rooms, and through the players' tunnel. Admission to the interactive Liverpool FC Story museum—and to the Steven Gerrard Collection.

Carabao Cup Final

Sunday 25th February - Mayfield Court got ready to support Liverpool FC in the Carabao Cup Final.

It was played between Chelsea and Liverpool, in a repeat of the 2022 final, at Wembley Stadium in London.

Liverpool won the match 1–0 after extra time to secure a record tenth EFL Cup title.

Christmas Jumper Day

The Christmas festivities were in full swing early December with a Christmas Jumper Day. Everyone got their festive jumpers on and all got together to play Bingo and a Christmas themed Quiz with lots of prizes to win!

Everyone had a fantastically festive day they all enjoyed drinks, snacks and some Christmas Music!

Christmas Party

Friday 8th December Mayfield held the Annual Christmas Party - family and friends joined the residents and staff for a fun and festive day.

The residents and their families enjoyed a delicious Carvery cooked by the kitchen staff, followed by entertainment, music, lots of dancing and even a very special visit from Santa Claus himself!!

The day was thoroughly enjoyed by all!

Ged enjoyed a great day out and about around Liverpool to see the places associated with John, Paul, George and Ringo as they grew up. Ged visited the Beatles childhood homes, schools and colleges.

During their break they had some great days out - They visited the Blackpool Tower Ballroom and enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea.

They also went to The Sealife Centre, Theatre to see Funny Girls and The Hive for Tea.

Safari Animal Visit

The residents really enjoy the animals coming to visit - as you can see by their happy faces. This time the residents got to pet and hold, a budgie, hedgehog, lizards, tortoise, guinea pig and rabbit.

SUMMER ACTIVITIES AT MAYFIELD

Over the summer period the residents have enjoyed a number of great Activities arranged by our Activities Co-Ordinator Karen.

When the sun was out the residents participated in some activities outside. Days in the garden with BBQ, Drinks and Music - this was thoroughly enjoyed by all in the beautiful warm sunshine.

Residents also went on a number of days out and trips from the Empire Theatre to Acorn Farm.

There was also Cookie and Shortbread making cookery classes with Peter.

We also wish a very Happy Birthday to the residents who celebrated their Birthday over the Summer!

King's Coronation Celebrations

Coronation Celebrations at Mayfield Court.

The residents had a fantastic day celebrating the Coronation of King Charles III.

Everyone enjoyed dressing up with Union Jack hats, garlands, glasses and flags.

For lunch the residents had a BBQ and for dessert there was lovely Union Jack themed cake and cupcakes for everyone to enjoy.

Animal Safari

The residents enjoyed a visit from an animal in- house Safari - they got to pet and hold some rabbits, guinea pigs, birds and even a skunk!

Aintree Grand National - Ladies Day

The residents had a great day watching the horse racing on the television for Ladies Day. Everyone got in the spirit, dressed up and picked some horses.

Hairdresser Visit

The residents had the hairdresser come to do their hair - they enjoyed being pampered and getting their hair done.

Sunshine, Smiles and Seaside Adventures at Mayfield Court.

The recent spell of glorious weather has brought a burst of energy and excitement to Mayfield Court. Our residents have been making the most of the sunshine, enjoying plenty of outings and fresh air.

One of the favourite stops have been trips to a local coffee shop and a nice slice of cake! And of course who can resist a traditional pub lunch...a hearty lunch and a pint or two went down a treat!

Easter at Mayfield Court - A Visit to Remember!

This Easter was truly special at Mayfield Court, as resident were treated to a delightful surprise - the Easter bunny himself made a fantastic appearance!

Bringing joy, laughter and plenty of seasonal cheer, the Easter Bunny handed out chocolate eggs and thoughtful gifts to our residents. The smiles were contagious and everyone enjoyed the festive treats and the warm, joyful atmosphere.

MAYFIELD'S GOT TALENT

On Saturday 20th July Mayfield welcomed family & friends to join in a fun packed fund day where everyone was welcome to show off their Talent.

There was also lots of fun activities - Raffle, Tombola, Face painting, balloon animals, craft table, sweets cart and lovely food - BBQ and Fish & Chips.

The residents got all dressed up for a fun packed day - starting with lovely Champagne breakfast , followed by the horse racing with drinks and cakes.

We had some lucky winners on the day and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

Over the last few weeks some of the residents have been on days out - some of the ladies have been on a shopping and lunch trip.

There has also been a trip to Knowsley Safari Park and tours around Liverpool.

Love was in the air at Mayfield Court as the residents prepared for Valentines Day, taking part in some lovely Arts & Craft activities.

On Valentines day everyone enjoyed a delicious 3 course meal, some of the residents had a dinner date with their own personal waiters.

Some of the Residents recently went on a 4 day holiday to Ribby Hall.

During their break they had some great days out - They visited the Blackpool Tower Ballroom and enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea.

They also went to The Sealife Centre, Theatre to see Funny Girls and The Hive for Tea.
